You could call Andy Crouch an author. You could also call him a former editor of Christianity Today. Or even a Partner for Theology and Culture at Praxis (which he still is). And on good days you could call him a connoisseur of Bach piano sonatas. Today on the pod he joins the fellas to discuss the challenges of parenting in a tech-filled lifestyle, why sabbaticals are essential, and how to manage quality time with your kids.

This week is really more a word for the wise.
You’re walking through your home and you see that some of the walls in the small hallway/big upstairs hallways/bathroom/different hallway could use some touching up. Now, you’re out of that color because those walls were painted YEARS ago, so you go to the Home Depot and get that same color, get some new brushes, and head home. You then get those new brushes and proceed to touch up those rooms with those colors.
And at first. It looks great. It’s drying, you’re happy because you’re tired of walking through those halls/rooms and seeing all those little nicks and marks.
But then it dries. And it doesn’t look right. “Why?”, you think to yourself. It’s the same color!
Ahhh, but it’s not the right FINISH. And that’s CRUCIAL, you come to find. Matte is NOT the same as EGGSHELL. Ahhhh.
“But Dave, why are you telling us this? What’s the moral of the story?”
Three newly painted rooms and one looooong hallway later, I’ll TELL you what it is.
YOU MIGHT AS WELL JUST REPAINT THOSE MOTHERS. 12-year-old paint doesn’t match even if it IS the right finish in 1 of the 4 rooms/hallways.
You’re welcome and the end.
This week's pick for me is easy.
It's hands down Amoxicillin.
Can we just take a second to give some props to Amoxicillin?? Listen, I know antibiotics should be taken as sparingly as possible and there are definite downsides to them, but y’all I was in the depths of DESPAIR last week. Sickness was throwing me around like a rag doll. Every morning I would wake up worse than the day before. Then I went to the doctor and she prescribed some Amoxicillin and almost overnight I was back!
