Quite a bit has happened with Mike Donehey since his last visit to Dadville. As a father of four girls, Mike has come to grips with the fact that at any moment someone in his house is crying and someone else is laughing. He also talks about what lead the re-forming of 10th Avenue North—with all new members. (Sorry, there's no real drama there.) This is an incredible episode that talks about work/life balance, dealing with your kids' mental health, and when to "overshare."

Spin Doctor’s Pocket Full of Kryptonite
My pick this week is a throw back. Yes. It’s. Spin Doctor’s Pocket Full Of Kryptonite. Yep.
This is the first CD I ever bought—they are one of my favorite bands ever, still. I bought most of their records and have always loved the band too. I would argue that Aaron Comess, the drummer, and Eric Schenkman, the guitarist, are two of the best at their respective instruments.
I saw them live last night and was reminded how instantly talented they are and how great the songs are!
Take a journey back in time with me.
And for the guitar nerds especially, learn these guitar parts. They seems easy at first listen, but they are insanely cool and well written!

Fall break.
Ammirite?
Let’s talk fall break for a sec. Fall break is an interesting time.
It’s not like Thanksgiving break where you probably have set plans where you’re either traveling or hosting and there’s no downtime.
It’s not like Christmas break that just has built in nostalgia for days and also it’s typically the end of an entire semester of school and everyone is ready for a respite from the grind.
It’s not like Spring break where you’re so beat down by the glum of winter and everyone flocks down to warmer climates to get a break from the cold.
And it’s not like Summer break where the kids are so ready to be done, they just completed another year of school, there are camps to look forward to, pools are open, etc, etc…
It’s just fall break.
You just got into a rhythm with school. It’s still so hot outside. You don’t have any plans to go anywhere because you already went everywhere or you just spent all your money on new school clothes and new backpacks and soccer kits and school drama department fees and school fundraiser contributions.
That being said, we’re on fall break right now and I just took my kids on a super fun trip to wash the car and they loved* it!
I hope your Fall break goes really great.
